The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas presents A Conversation with Federal Judges. The purpose of this event is to give local attorneys, who are members of the federal bar in Kansas, an opportunity to get acquainted with our federal judges and to provide a forum to discuss issues of importance to the bar. Complimentary CLE credit will be available to attorneys admitted to the bar in Kansas and Missouri.
DATE AND LOCATION: This event is being held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. In an effort to accommodate all attorneys interested in attending, this is a repeat of the same program held April 29, 2009. We ask that you only attend the luncheon if you did not attend in April. The event will be held in Room 180 of the Robert J. Dole Federal Courthouse located at 500 State Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas. Registration will begin at 11:30 am, lunch will be provided to you at no cost beginning at 12:00 p.m. You will be asked to submit any questions you have for the judges during registration.
REGISTRATION: To register for this event, please visit our website at www.ksd.uscourts.gov. Click on "Attorneys" located at the far left side of your screen. Next, select "CLE Training", then click on "Kansas City" and finally "A Conversation with Federal Judges". Seating is limited, so we suggest that you register as soon as possible. If seating is full, you will be placed on the wait list. As cancellations occur, the next attorney in line on the wait list will be automatically moved to the registration list and notified via e-mail. Should you become unable to attend the luncheon, please cancel your registration via the website or call Jennifer Brake at 913-551-5626. Since the event typically has a waiting list, be sure to let us know if you will not be in attendance so that we may open up your spot to another attorney.
PARKING: Visitor parking is available in the lot on the corner of Washington Blvd. and 5th Street. Enter the lot by turning east off of 5th Street and then turn north into the parking lot. Do not park in the lot directly in front of Johnny C's as this is all customer parking.
SECURITY: Cell phones and other electronic devices are allowed in the building only if you have a current bar registration card and a photo ID. In order to avoid delays at the security checkpoint, we recommend that you do not bring electronic devices with you unless it is absolutely necessary.
