A Conversation with Federal Judges

The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas presents A Conversation with Federal Judges. The purpose of this event is to give local attorneys, who are members of the federal bar in Kansas, an opportunity to get acquainted with our federal judges and to provide a forum to discuss issues of importance to the bar. Complimentary CLE credit will be available to attorneys admitted to the bar in Kansas and Missouri.

DATE AND LOCATION: This event is being held on Friday, May 15, 2009. In an effort to accommodate all attorneys interested in attending, the same program will be repeated in the Fall (date to be determined). We ask that you only attend one of the two luncheons. The event will be held in Room #PL 207A of the Topeka Federal Courthouse located at 444 SE Quincy Street. Registration will begin at 11:30 am, lunch will be provided to you at no cost beginning at 12:00 p.m. You will be asked to submit any questions you have for the judges during registration.

REGISTRATION: To register for this event, please visit our website at www.ksd.uscourts.gov. Click on "Attorneys" located at the far left side of your screen. Next, select "CLE Training", then click on "Topeka" and finally "A Conversation with Federal Judges". Seating is limited, so we suggest that you register as soon as possible. Please note that registering a guest is no longer available. However, we are introducing the following new features on the registration site:
     1. Attorneys will be able to cancel a reservation at the site.
     2. Attorneys will be able to sign up on a wait list at the site if registration is at capacity.
     3. As cancellations occur, the next attorney name in line on the wait list will automatically be moved to the registration list and notified via email.

PARKING: Parking is available at Townsite Plaza Garage. This garage is located southwest of the courthouse, adjacent to the Bank of America building. To access the parking garage, turn east off of Kansas Avenue at either 4th Street or 5th Street.

SECURITY: Cell phones and other electronic devices are allowed in the building only if you have a current bar registration card and a photo ID. In order to avoid delays at the security checkpoint, we recommend that you do not bring electronic devices with you unless it is absolutely necessary.
