The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas presents A Conversation with Federal Judges. The purpose of this event is to give local attorneys, who are members of the federal bar in Kansas, an opportunity to get acquainted with our federal judges and to provide a forum to discuss issues of importance to the bar. Complimentary CLE credit will be available to attorneys admitted to the bar in Kansas and Missouri.
DATE AND LOCATION: This event is being held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008. In an effort to accommodate all attorneys interested in attending, the same program will be repeated in the Fall (date to be determined). We ask that you only attend one of the two luncheons. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Robert J. Dole Federal Courthouse located at 500 State Avenue in room 180. Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. You will be asked to submit any questions you have for the judges at the time you check-in. Lunch will be provided to you at no cost beginning at 12:00 p.m.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION: To register for this event, please visit our website at ksd.uscourts.gov. Click on "Attorneys" located at the far left side of your screen. Next, select "CLE Training", then click on "Kansas City" and finally "A Conversation with Federal Judges". Seating is limited, so we suggest that you register as soon as possible. Should seats no longer be available when you get to the registration site, please check back occasionally as we will most likely have cancellations. If you initially sign up for the luncheon, but are subsequently unable to attend, please contact Karen Jannaman at (913) 551-5734 in order to allow another member of the bar to fill your slot.
PARKING: Visitor parking is available in the lot on the corner of Washington Blvd. and 5th Street. Enter the lot by turning east off of 5th Street and then turn north into the parking lot. Do not park in the lot directly in front of Johnny C's as this is all customer parking.
SECURITY INFORMATION: Cell phones and other electronic devices are allowed in the building only if you have a current bar registration card and a photo ID. In order to avoid delays at the security checkpoint, we recommend that you do not bring electronic devices with you unless it is absolutely necessary.
